I posted a blog item about an interview with a bigwig in the music technology business who says that in the future, music and film will be folded into basic internet services and people will pay a flat fee the way they now pay for cable. Check it out and let me know what you think.

This business model is being rolled out on a number of different fronts. Some smaller companies are doing this with independent recording artist and labels. Additionally, I think Sony/BMG is looking at this business model as well -please don't quote me on this one as I don't remember the source to validate my information.
